A sextet of Bluejays were recently honored for their prowess in the classroom.
Tanner Darr, Troy Jahnke, Henry Melendrez, Jacob Thompson, Kade VanKirk and Gage Welch earned Class 3A District 2 All-Acedemic status. Requirements include the honoree be a senior letterman with a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
These and other awards will be presented to individual players Monday at the yearly football banquet, which will be held in the PHS Commons at 6:30 p.m. A team highlight movie and senior movie will also be shown, and coaches will make remarks. All players and families are encouraged to attend.
Freshmen are asked to bring a main dish to the potluck, with sophomores and juniors to bring a main dish or side dish while seniors are to provide desserts. Table service and drinks will be provided.
