Barn fire nipped in bud by Perry Fire Department Tuesday

A fire at 17187 160th St. near Perry was quickly controlled by the Perry Volunteer Fire Department Tuesday afternoon.

The Perry Volunteer Fire Department quickly brought back under control a fire on a farm west of Perry Tuesday afternoon after embers from a burn pile set fire to the roof of the barn.

The barn at 17187 160th St. stands on property owned by Steve and Helen Woodworth, who fought the blaze with a garden hose until the arrival of the Perry firefighters.

There were no injuries in the incident and only minor property damage.
