Blaine H. Lytle of Mesa, Ariz.

Dr. Blaine H. Lytle passed away Aug. 11, 2015, at his home in Mesa, Ariz., with his wife and family members at his side.

He was superintendent of the Perry Community School District from 1967 to 1988. After his retirement as superintendent, he served on the Perry City Council.

Blaine was born in Watson, Mo., in 1932 to Jay and Bertha Lytle. He graduated from Rockport High School in Rockport, Mo., in 1950.

He spent time in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. After his discharge, he continued his education, obtaining a B.A., M.A. and Specialist Degree, and in 1974 he received his doctorate in education.

Blaine was a member of the American Arbitration Association, ZA-GA-ZIG Shrine Hospital Dads, a 50-year member of the Otley Masonic Lodge in Perry and various other associations.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; son, Brett (Pam) Lytle of Los Altos Calif.; daughters, Kimberly (Gary) Evenson of Morehead, Minn., and Teresa (Kim) Streed of Olathe, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother.

His body was donated to science. There will be a memorial service at a later date in Mesa, Ariz.
