OGDEN — An even-par round of 36 from Noah Wilkening and three rounds in the low 40s allowed the Perry boys golfers to hand host Ogden a 162-169 defeat at Don Williams Golf Course Tuesday.

“The guys are starting to play pretty good and we are gradually getting our team score to the point we need it to be for the end of the year tournaments,” Bluejay head coach Nick Field said. “Noah continues to play well and Jack (Brosnahan) and Will (Whiton) are starting to get a little more consistent. Ryan (Rathje), Connor (Nielsen) and Kade (VanKirk) continue to get better with every meet.”

Wilkening had five pars and offset two bogeys with a pair of birdies to shoot his medalist-winning 36 while Brosnahan overcame a triple-bogey with a birdie and four pars to shoot a 41.

Rathje scored for the varsity with three pars and a birdie en route to a 42, with Whiton having three pars on his way to a 43.

VanKirk had a birdie and a par for a 44, with Nielsen shooting four pars to score a 45; neither was used toward the team total.

Harry Haglund led Ogden with his runner-up medalist round of 39, with Hunter Longnecker carding a 42 and both Zach Waterbury and Jade Thompson a 44. Jacob Hildreth and Seth Bishop did not have their respective rounds of 45 and of 51 used for the Bulldog team score.

Six players made the circuit for the Perry junior varsity.

Tanner Darr (50), Tanner Duffy (51), Zach Roberts (52) and Luke Rathje (52) helped provide a JV score of 205, with Tyler Soll (55) and Brody Kimrey (58) also playing nine holes. Duffy and Kimrey each had birdies on their cards.
