The Perry cheerleaders were busy Sunday and Monday visiting businesses around town, painting windows in celebration of Homecoming.

“Safari in the Savannah” is the theme for this year and many of the windows either touched on that theme or played off the business whose window was being painted.

The Chamber of Commerce is again sponsoring Wednesday’s Homecoming parade, which will begin at Perry High School at 6 p.m. The parade will travel west down Willis Ave before turning north on Second St.

The route will end at Raccoon Valley Bank, where a BBQ will be held. Freewill donations will be accepted, with proceeds given to the junior class prom committee. Class floats will be parked along Second Ave. for up-close inspection and photos.

Perry faces fifth-ranked DC-G in Friday’s football game. The frosh/soph game begins at 4:45 p.m. with the varsity contest to follow.
