Congratulations to anyone expecting a baby!

To help you celebrate, you’re invited to a baby shower hosted by the Maternal Child Health program of Dallas County Public Health and Nursing Services.

The Maternal Child Health program is a free in-home support program for all moms, parents-to-be and babies residing in Dallas County.

The home visitors are a licensed nurse and a medical social worker, and they help new moms know what to expect, talk out problems and decrease health risks for mom and baby.

The free program adds a layer of support, in addition to regular OB visits.

Dallas County Public Health offers its maternal child health visits to pregnant women at their home or a location they choose, scheduled at a time that is convenient for the mom.

The visits are free of charge, thanks to 4R Kids Iowa. A grant from the Bock Family Foundation sponsors reward gifts to participants.

The community baby shower will be Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 4-5 p.m. at the Perry Public Library, 1101 Willis Ave. in Perry. All expecting mothers currently living in Dallas County who attend this shower will receive a gift.

Please RSVP to Stephanie Birt by Jan. 20 at 515-371-5347.

Ann Cochran is the Health Navigation Coordinator at the Dallas County Public Health Department.
