A great swell of community sympathy and support has met the tragic death of Harley Moore, 4, who lost his life Friday in a fire that destroyed the rural Perry home of his parents, Tony and Amber Moore, and his two brothers, Zane, 10, and Aedon, 8 weeks.

Jessica Goehring of Perry, a first cousin to the Moores, established a Gofundme page for little Harley and the Moore family Thursday afternoon, and the fundraising is already nearing its $5,000 goal.

“I am beyond grateful for the love and support everyone in this awesome state and beyond have shown,” Goehring said Friday. “The donations are exceeding any expectations I have set, and I know my cousin and his family will be grateful for anything to help ease the financial burdens they are facing with having to bury there beloved child and try to rebuild their lives.”

Great Western Bank in Perry has also established a Harley Moore memorial account for people wishing to donate in person or by mail. The bank is located at 1111 141st St. in Perry. The mailing address is P.O. Box 518, Perry, IA 50220.

“Please know this family appreciates everything given to them and would love to extend their gratitude to each of you,” Goehring said. “May God bless each one of you.”

In addition to the Gofundme page and the Great Western Bank memorial account, donations of clothing and household items for the Moores can be delivered to the McCreary Community Building, the Perry Burger King or the Brubaker Shop on Main Street in Rippey. Sizes desired include:

Zane: 10 slim pants, 10-12 shirt
Aedon: 3-6 months
Tony: 40×34 pants, 2XL shirt
Amber: 20-22 pants, shirt XL

  1. How are the donations of clothing coming along for Amber and Tony Moore’s family? Are they getting an overabundance of clothing? Are there other things they need besides clothes? I have a “free store” and want to help out with clothing and household items, if needed! TwoandaDream is operated through receiving donations of clothing and miscellaneous items from communities throughout Iowa, and then we give back to individuals and families in need…all free of charge. Let me know if there’s anything they need besides clothing. We do not have furniture because we don’t have enough space to keep it. We’ve got mostly clothing at the present time, along with a variety of household/kitchen items, wall decor, misc.
