A controlled burn exceeded its control about 6 p.m. Thursday and quickly destroyed a nearby grain storage structure.
The grain storage stood in the 12700 block of I Avenue west of Perry on land belonging to Morey J. Hill, according to county land records.
An out-of-control field fire was reported by a 911 caller shortly before 6 p.m., and by 6:15 p.m. the fire spread to the storage area, fully engulfing at least one bin.
The Perry First Responders, Perry Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas County EMS responded to the incident, where there were no injuries.
