Sunday’s mild weather provided the perfect atmosphere for the annual Panther Creek Church of the Brethren’s ice cream social.
The basement of the church, which lies about 12 miles south of perry, was filled to overflowing with people enjoying beef burgers, chips, condiments, relishes and a choice of beverages.
Desserts included a dizzying variety of pies, cakes and bars and of course the Brethren’s famous homemade ice cream. Three varieties of homemade ice cream were offered, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.
Twenty-five pies and several sheets of brownies were served alongside 12 gallons of donated ice cream during the meal.
Proceeds from the annual fundraiser support the church youth group’s attendance at the 2018 National Youth Conference and the church’s junior and senior youth activities.
