The family of Curtis Moorhead of Perry has set up a donation account in his name at Wells Fargo in order to help with his extensive medical expenses. The account is called the Curtis Moorhead Catastrophe Fund, and people may donate by using the following number: 8725823077.

Moorhead was critically injured Sunday night near Yale when a vehicle struck him as he was fueling his Jeep. He was lifeflighted from the accident scene to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, where he remains under intensive care.

“Curtis is still critical but is off the ventilator and making progress,” said Brian Moorhead of Perry, the victim’s brother. “Curtis has fractures in his spine, right arm and right leg, to name a few of the multiple injuries. He is currently in a back brace, and the ventilator was removed yesterday. Curtis continues to have a long road to recovery and may be in ICU through this week.”

Moorhead said his brother will be unable to work for many months. He said the Wells Fargo donation fund has been set up to help with his family’s transportation to and from the hospital, meals, his current homeowner expenses and future expenses that will continue to arise.

“My brother is the toughest person I know,” said Brian Moorhead of Perry, “and he has a level of pride that prevents his asking for help. If people are unable to provide a monetary donation, we would ask for your continued thoughts and prayers.”

The Wells Fargo account is called the Curtis Moorhead Catastrophe Fund. Donors will need the following number: 8725823077.
