A fire broke out in a garage at 1619 Fifth St. in Perry Saturday about 6:30 a.m. and completely destroyed the structure.
Officers of the Perry Police Department responded to the blaze and determined the garage and adjoining house were vacant.
The garage, located to the rear of the house on the alleyway west of Fifth Street, was fully engulfed and collapsed prior to the arrival of the Perry Volunteer Fire Department.
“It went up quick,” said a neighboring property owner as he watched the blaze accompanied by his Labrador retriever.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this hour.
