Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 17 at St. Patrick Catholic Church for Dorothy Tiernan of Perry. The Rev. Zach Kautzky will officiate. Burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 16, with the family receiving friends from 5–7 p.m. and followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Murdock Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dorothy’s name and may be left or sent to the funeral home.
Dorothy passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines at the age of 89.
Survivors include three sons, Larry (Paula) Tiernan of Cedar Rapids, Joe Tiernan of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tom (Kay) Tiernan of Arlington, Va.; three daughters, Mary Anne Kinney of West Des Moines, Rose Marie (Tom) Griffin of Charlotte, N.C., and Barb Fiori of Ogden; one brother, Leo Cologna of Marshville, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
