Drivers escape with minor injuries from two-vehicle mishap Tuesday

Drivers escaped with minor injuries Tuesday afternoon when a northbound Hyundai station wagon was struck by a southbound Cadillac Escalade on U.S. Highway 169 just south of Iowa Highway 44.

A two-vehicle mishap about 3 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 169 about 500 yards south of Iowa Highway 44 left the two solo drivers with minor injuries and the two vehicles totally destroyed.

Dallas County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ryan Bowers said the driver of the northbound vehicle, a maroon Hyundai station wagon, “lost control and then came back on the road and got hit by the other vehicle,” a southbound Cadillac Escalade.

The incident is under investigation, Bowers said.

Responding to the incident with the Dallas County Sheriff’s office were the Dallas Center Volunteer Fire Department and the Dallas County EMS.
