Eugene Roggasch, 82, of Perry passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at his home in Perry, Iowa.
According to his wishes, a private family memorial service will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to the Humane Society of Perry and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.
Eugene Donald Roggasch was born Jan. 23, 1935, at Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Walter W. and Hertha (Speck) Roggasch.
He attended school in California and then entered into the U.S. Marine Corps after graduation.
Eugene was united in marriage to Bettijo Hotchkiss at Reno, Nev., Sept. 27, 1958.
He owned and operated his own business in California before moving to Perry in 1992.
After retirement, he worked with Bettijo at Mars Dairy Bar in Perry.
Eugene enjoyed reading and he could repair anything that needed to be fixed.
In death he rejoins his parents, Walter and Hertha Roggasch; and three brothers, Eddie, Junior and Bobby Roggasch.
Left to cherish Eugene’s memory are his wife, Bettijo Roggasch of Perry; children, Kirk Roggasch of Tuolumne, Calif., Karry (Ricky) Peterman of Lewisville, Texas, and Dwayne (Vonda) Roggasch of Holstein, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Pat (Doyle) Turner of Gordonville, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Janet Rogers of Perry.
