If a tree falls in the forest, it might not make any noise if there is no ear to hear it, but if it falls on Willis Avenue on a sunny Saturday afternoon in spring, it draws a lot of attention.
A case in point is the tree that blocked the westbound lane of Willis Avenue between Seventh and Eighth streets about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Perry Police Department Officer Wayne Schuttler controlled traffic on the busy thoroughfare while volunteers with a chain saw and willing hands dismembered and removed the fallen tree, which has seen its last spring.
