Plate glass repairs have begun at 1215 Second St. in downtown Perry, the former home of American Family Insurance.
The property is owned by the Edmund R. Bacon Jr. Family Trust, which also owns and operates Bacon Jewelers at 1213 Second St.
It is unknown whether further improvements are planned for the vacant commercial space, which has attracted some recent interest from other downtown renters.
“You’ll have to refer that question to Eddie,” said a Bacon Jewelers spokesperson Monday, “and he’s out for the day, so you’ll have to call back tomorrow.”
American Family Insurance closed its Perry offices in 2013.
