July 17, 2017

  • A deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on 230th Street. When the deputy arrived in the area, the deputy found a 2011 Chevorlet Equinox in the ditch. The vehicle was being operated by Talon Church, 19, of Ogden. The vehicle had struck a power pole. The estimated damage to the vehicle was about $9,500. Talon was arrested for first-offense OWI, failure to maintain control and driving without a license. The estimated damage to the power pole was aboutn $1,100.
  • A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 1100 block of Livingston Street in Churdan.
  • A deputy investigated a two-car accident on 220th Street at Eaton Avenue. Earl Mcalexander, 55, of Rockwell City was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion South on Eaton Avenue and failed to stop at the posted stop sign. Mcalexander struck a semi-tractor trailer in the back axle of the trailer. The damage to his vehicle was estimated at $8,500. The semi and trailer were 2015 Kenworth’s. Kin Gorden, 57, of Nevada was the driver of the semi. The estimated damage to the trailer axle is around $3,000. The Scranton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and cleaned up a small leak. Mcalexander was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
  • Talon Church, 19, of Ogden was booked into the jail for first-offense OWI.
  • A deputy assisted with traffic control for a small spill of an unknown substance on 220th Street and J Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a truck in the ditch at 340th Street and I Avenue. The vehicle was found to be in Calhoun County.
  • A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 400 block of Lovejoy Street in Rippey.
  • A deputy located Joe Blackmon in the 200 block of Main Street in Rippey. Joe Blackmon, 41, of Jefferson was arrested on a warrant for a probation violation.
  • A deputy investigated a road blow up on E Avenue near 250th Street.
  • Joe Blackmon, 41, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail for a probation violation.
  • A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 900 block of Locust Street in Scranton.
  • Freedon Ore, 36, of Des Moines was booked into the jail for assault causing bodily injury/mental illness.
  • A deputy investigated a missing person report in the 400 block of Harding Street in Churdan. The persons were located.
  • A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 500 block of Jefferson Street in Scranton.

July 18, 2017

  • Donald Wallace, 79, of Churdan was booked into the jail to serve a sentence.
  • A deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on 16th Street and Main Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy investigated a vicious dog complaint in the 500 block of S. 12th Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy investigated an identity theft in the 500 block of I Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 300 block of Head Street in Churdan.
  • A deputy assisted a motorist with a flat tire on 235th Street near G Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a violation of a no-contact order in the 1100 block of Lincoln Street in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 600 block of Jefferson Street in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 600 block of 12th Street S. in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 1000 block of K Avenue.
  • The Greene County Sheriff and a Deputy, The Churdan Volunteer Fire Department, Scranton Volunteer Fire Department and the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department were called for four Carroll County residents who were lost on the river near D Avenue. Three of them were found to be home in Carroll County. The fourth was located on a sandbar near Hyde Park.

July 19, 2017

  • A deputy investigated a harassment in the 400 block of Paton Street in Paton.
  • A deputy investigated a criminal mischief complaint in the 500 block of Sand Street in Churdan.
  • A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 1100 block of Lincoln Street in Scranton.
  • Niko Rice, 23, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injury, second-degree harassment, domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury.
  • A deputy investigated a rock chip to a vehicle’s window on 220th Street near Mulberry Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a trespass complaint on Ninth and Main streets on the railroad tracks in Grand Junction.

July 20, 2017

  • Jake Ball, 33, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for a violation of a protective order.
  • The Greene County Sheriff and Deputies investigated a two-car accident on 235th Street just east of R Avenue. Rochelle Schaffer, 55, of Grand Junction was operating a 2011 Chevrolet Impala and was traveling westbound on 230th Street when she tried to pass a car and pulled out in front of Gary Schmidt, 66, of Rippey, who was operating a 2002 Sterling dump truck. The Chevrolet Impala was a total loss, and there was an estimated $14,000 damage to the Greene County Roads Department dump truck. Schaffer will be issued citations for unsafe passing and failure to provide current insurance. The Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department and Greene County EMS responded along with the Mercy Medical center life flight helicopter. Both drivers were taken by either ambulance or helicopter for their non-life threatening injuries.
  • Jesse Jansen, 34, of Scranton was booked into the jail for third-degree harassment.
  • Suanne Winters, 46, of Ogden was booked into the jail for third-degree burglary.
  • A deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on U Avenue just north of 180th Street. Justin Dencklau, 24, of Otho was operating a 2011 Chevrolet Express Van and struck the railroad crossing arms on U Avenue. There was an estimated $3,500 in damage to the van and $200 in damage to the crossing arms. Dencklau was issued a citation for failure to obey a railroad crossing stop light.
  • A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 1900 block of E Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a road blow up at 195th Street and S Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a vehicle theft in the 2400 block of H Avenue.
  • James Harris, 30, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for fifth-degree theft.
  • A deputy located a stop missing on 130th Street and S Avenue. The deputy located the sign and fixed it.
  • A deputy located an abandoned vehicle on 130th Street at I Avenue.
  • Austin Moon, 22, of Boone was booked into the jail for possession of drug paraphernalia, first-offense OWI and first-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana.
  • Victoria Vote, 18, of Harcourt was booked into the jail for first-offense possession/purchase of alcohol.
  • A deputy assisted a homeowner in the 1200 block of Neola Avenue get the garage door open.
  • A deputy located an abandoned vehicle on N Avenue near 170th Street.
  • A deputy assisted with branches on the roadway in the 100 block of O Avenue.

July 21, 2017

  • A deputy removed debris from the roadway on 110th Street and N Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on 220th Street near Scranton.
  • A deputy assisted a motorist who got out of the car and whose child then locked the doors in the 100 block of Third Street in Rippey.
  • A deputy assisted the railroad with traffic control after a train struck an object that was on the tracks.
  • Pamela Johnson, 61, of Fort Dodge was booked into the jail to serve a sentence.
  • Eddie Mun, 33, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail for refusing to sign a traffic citation.
  • Clay Paulson, 21, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail to serve a sentence.
  • A deputy investigated a civil dispute in the 900 block of Cedar Street in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated a missing person in the 200 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction. The person was found at home.

July 22, 2017

  • A deputy investigated a verbal domestic in the 300 block of E. Main Street in Grand Junction.

July 23, 2017

  • A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 1400 block of 265th Street.
  • Jesus Zuniga, 18, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for disorderly conduct and third-degree harassment.
  • A deputy investigated a theft in the 1000 block of East Sandoe Street in Grand Junction.
