Hartz receives Good Citizen Award from Boone chapter of DAR

The DeShon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in Boone has announced this year’s winner of its Good Citizen Award.

Perry High School senior Desiree Hartz has been chosen as this year’s DAR Good Citizen. The award recognizes the qualities of a good citizen: dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

“Every year we ask area high school counselors to nominate one graduating senior from their high school for a DAR Good Citizen Award,” said Barb MacDougall, Good Citizen Chairperson of the DeShon Chapter DAR.

Hartz was presented her award by MacDougall and DeShon Chapter Regent Briana Johnson in a ceremony in Boone.
