EDDYVILLE — Woodward-Granger continued their torrid offensive burst Saturday in a non-conference game with Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
One day after scoring 12 runs on 10 hits in a lopsided win over Southwest Valley, the Hawks blew up for 21 runs on 17 hits — seven of them for extra-bases — in claiming a 21-6 victory over the Rockets.
W-G led, 8-5, after three innings before expanding their margin to 12-5 in the fourth. E-B-F countered with a run in their half of the fourth before two Hawks tallies in the fifth and seven more in the sixth created the final tally.
Michael Connor was 4-for-5 with two doubles and a grand slam to drive in six runs while scoring four runs on his own.
Dylan Garland had a homer and a double with four RBIs while scoring three times, with Marcus McConahay and Jackson Larson also smacking doubles. Tre Loge had four RBIs and Logan Lande and Larson two RBIs apiece.
W-G drew eight walks and stole six bases in the win.
Larson went all six innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on nine hits and two walks. He finished with four strikeouts.
