MADRID — Woodward-Granger recorded a WCAC sweep over the host Madrid volleyball team Tuesday.

W-G moved to 13-10 overall and 3-1 in league play behind set wins of 25-20, 25-7 and 25-16. The loss drops Madrid to 4-4, 1-3.

Julie Pitman had 11 kills and Ashley Gales 10 to pace the visitors, with Alyssa Bice making eight kills, Anna Tague six and Emma Drake and Alissa Smeltzer two each. Drake distributed 32 assists and Kaycee Major two.

Bice led the team with nine digs while Major and Marissa Pasker had six apiece. Ashlyn Soelberg tallied four digs, Smeltzer, Tague and Katelyn Bandstra three each, Drake and Pitman two apiece and Gales one. Drake and Pitman were each a part of three blocks and Gales of two with Smeltzer and Tague each making one block.

Tague had the hot serving hand, finishing 21-of-21 with six aces behind the line. Pitman was 11-14-5 and Bice 10-13-2, with Smeltzer 9-10-2 while Drake was 8-of-11, Major 4-of-5 and Soelberg 1-of-2.

Shayla Peters had five kills, 10 digs and was 6-of-6 for the Tigers, with Molly Schaffer 4-of-5 while tallying nine digs and making 10 assists.

W-G returns to the court Tuesday with a trip to AC/GC, with a visit to WCV slated for Sept. 28.
