Heroic blood donors found today at Perry Public Library

“Every Hero Has a Story,” according to the theme of the Perry Public Library’s summer reading program, and today’s heroes had a story about the library’s special blood drive that lasted until 3:30 p.m.

Eligible donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 120 pounds and have no health conditions preventing their giving blood, according to Marlene Johnson, who organized the blood drive at the Perry Public Library

“Be a hero, and donate blood,” said Perry Public Library Executive Director Mary Murphy. “Encourage your friends and neighbors to be heroes, too, and give the gift of life to someone in need.”
