WOODWARD — Tradition continued Thursday in Woodward with the annual W-G Homecoming parade, which began at 5:30 p.m.
The W-G band and cheerleaders were in the parade lineup as were the high school, middle school and youth football teams. The volleyball and cross country teams also had floats, as did a group of teachers and staff. The little Hawk cheerleaders marched along, as did young girl scouts.
The Homecoming court were highlighted in the procession, with a coronation ceremony held afterward in the W-G auditorium.
Paige Harlan and Logan Canova received crowns and honors as Homecoming Queen and King.
Other queen candidates included Alyssa Bice, Kaycee Major, Aubrey Mescher and Kaitlyn Peters while Nick Brummond, Josh Saak, Austin Scharlau and Payton Tague were the other candidates for king.
Another tradition which continued was the naming of two kindergarten students as the Little Royalty. Joanne Leuenberger and Eian VanZelderen were selected by their teachers for the honor, and were allowed to ride in the parade in a convertible, just like the “big” royalty.
Woodward-Granger (3-1, 2-0) will host Interstate-35 (2-2, 0-2) at 7 p.m. tonight.
