The Dallas County Sheriff’s office has issued a public notification in order to inform the public the following individual is registered with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry:

McElhaney’s registration with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry is a result of a 2016 conviction on a charge of assault with intent to commit sex abuse.
Iowa Law authorizes a criminal or juvenile justice agency to notify the community about a person required to register with the Iowa Sex Offender when necessary to protect the public.
This notification is to serve only as a means for the public to protect themselves, and any action taken by anyone against this person, including vandalism of property, verbal or written threat of physical harm or physical assault against the person or the person’s family can result in arrest and prosecution.
