  • While conducting business door checks, an officer located an open door at 509 Gallop Road.
  • A traffic stop was performed State and Elm streets, resulting in Blake Power of Sheldon being issued a citation for excessive speed.
  • An officer secured an open door found at 909 N. Maple St.
  • An officer issued a parking violation notice in the 500 block of E. Lincoln Way for parking between the lot line and curb line.
  • Jennifer Badger reported her daughter drove the family’s truck to school yesterday at 101 Ram Drive, and now the vehicle shows damage. The 2011 GMC Sierra received a dent on the driver’s side box. It appeared a vehicle struck the truck as it backed out of a neighboring parking spot. An officer estimated the damage at $1,200. The officer is investigating to attempt to locate the other driver involved.
  • An officer performed a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 500 block of N. Maple Street. James Michael Lefeber of Jefferson was issued a citation for driving while suspended. Cheri Cain of Jefferson is the owner of the vehicle, and Cain was cited for allowing an unauthorized person to drive.
  • A Greene County Community School bus driver brought a school bus violation form to the Law Enforcement Center. The driver said a vehicle passed her stopped school bus in the 100 block of S. Cedar Street. An officer is working with the vehicle, plate and driver information provided by the bus driver to identify the offender.
  • Jeremy Bane reported his wallet was recently stolen or lost out of his pocket, and he is now trying to use his card at Wal Mart. An officer is waiting for more information to be provided to him to continue the investigation.
  • An officer secured an open door in the 500 block of Greenewood Road.
  • Theresa Lawson requested assistance in locating her juvenile son, who was not home at his curfew time. She was unable to reach him on his cell phone. The youth was located a short time later by a deputy and he returned home.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
