  • An officer removed debris from the roadway in the 1800 block of N. Mulberry Street.
  • An officer located an open door at 509 E. Gallop Road.
  • A traffic stop was performed in the 1000 block of N. Cedar Street, resulting in Jason Sheldahl of Boone being issued a citation for driving while suspended.
  • A traffic stop was performed at Elm and State streets, resulting in Matthew Hopkins of Jefferson being issued a citation for failure to obey a stop sign.
  • The U.S. Postal Service reported a dog running loose and tied to the front of the residence at 103 E. Monroe St. An officer spoke with the owner of the animal and worked with the owner to fix the issues with the animal and the postal carriers.
  • Natalie Casey reported that her German shepherd was loose from 303 S. Grimmell Road. An officer located the animal and returned it to Casey. Michael Godwin was issued a citation for animal at large prohibited.
  • Callers advised of a blue van driving from house to house and asking for money in the area of S. Elm Street in Jefferson. Officers did not locate the beggars.
  • Angela Fox requested an officer to document a civil issue she was having with an out-of-state business.
  • Officers took a live trap to 403 W. Madison St. at the owner’s request to trap a squirrel in the basement.
  • Angie Parnell caught a stray dog in the 1200 block of Rushridge Street. The animal was returned to the owner with a warning.
  • Troy Powers reported the theft of a computer from his unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of S. Oak Street. Powers believed the theft occurred on April 20. An officer is investigating.
  • Sparky’s reported a fraudulent check was received from a customer. An officer is investigating the incident.
  • Dakota Bishop reported someone took a bag of cans from his property at 300 E. Washington St. The cans were outside by a rear door when they were taken.
  • Officers located and secured an open door at 610 N. Elm St.
  • An officer located an open gate at 1005 E. Lincoln Way.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
