  • Crissy McFarland requested a welfare check on a female at 605 N. Wilson Ave. after she had not shown up for work. An officer learned the subject was home sick but fine.
  • An officer assisted with an unruly student at the Greene County Elementary School at 401 E. Russell St. The juvenile had run from the school. The officer assisted with getting the juvenile back inside to the principal’s office.
  • An officer assisted with a medical call in the 1200 block of Southfield Drive.
  • An officer assisted with a medical call in the 600 block of S. Olive Street.
  • An officer investigated a backing accident in the 600 block of N. Oak Street. A 1999 Chevy Suburban, owned by Genesis Development and being operated by Denise Charlson of Jefferson, backed from a parking spot and into a parked vehicle, a 2004 Ford Expedition owned by Nicole Dennhardt of Jefferson that was legally parked. The Genesis vehicle suffered slight damage estimated at $200. The Dennhardt vehicle had damages estimated at $2000. Charlson was issued a citation for unsafe backing upon a highway.
  • An officer was flagged down in the 400 block of E. Lincoln Way by someone who reported two young juveniles who were lost and did not speak English. The officer located the two juveniles and was able to get them home to their mother. They are new to the area and the mother was unaware of the early school dismissal on Wednesdays.
  • Officers were requested at 305 W. Lincoln Way for a civil property dispute. Officers were able to stand by while the situation was worked out between the parties.
  • A Greene County Deputy Sheriff requested assistance from an officer in responding to a one-vehicle property damage accident at Jordan Avenue and 230th Street. The officer made contact with the people involved in the rollover accident and stood by until the deputy could arrive and take over the investigation.
  • Curtiss Bird reported receiving what he believed to be the “Yes” phone scam. Bird did not incur a loss and ended the call.
  • After failing to comply with a defect ticket issued March 4, Joshua Sanders of Jefferson was issued a citation for dark windows.
  • After failing to comply with a defect ticket issued on March 8, Michael Thompson of Jefferson was issued a citation for failure to provide proof of financial liability.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
