  • John Thompson spoke with an officer about a friend he was unable to locate.
  • An officer located an open business door at 610 N. Elm St.
  • A caller reported an unlicensed driver operating a vehicle in the 300 block of N. Elm Street. An officer later located the vehicle parked at a residence and spoke to the person about his driving privileges.
  • An officer removed a squirrel from a live trap at 708 S. Oak St.
  • Debbie Kinsey reported someone lying face down on the grass in Russell Park. An officer made contact with the person, who was napping.
  • An officer assisted a resident who locked himself out of the residence at 508 S. Locust St.
  • Dave Sayre reported someone riding a motorized scooter on the roadway in the 800 block of S. Elm Street. An officer was tied up for a few minutes before responding to the area. He did not locate the scooter rider.
  • Officers were called to 407 N. Grimmell Road for a possible intruder in the basement. The officers arrived and searched the residence. No one and nothing out of the ordinary was located.
  • An officer investigated a two-vehicle property damage accident at Vine and Clark streets. A 2016 Chevrolet Cruz, owned and operated by Russell Scott of Jefferson, was northbound on N. Vine Street when it struck a westbound vehicle in the intersection of Vine and Clark streets. The westbound vehicle, a 2015 Jeep Cherokee, was owned and operated by Shane Nissen of Carroll. Both vehicles suffered severe and disabling damages. The officer estimated damage at $12,000 to each vehicle. Scott was issued a citation for failure to yield to vehicle on right.
  • An officer was requested at the Greene County Middle School at 203 E. Harrison St. Working on a student tip, school officials conducted a search of a female student’s bag. Suspected marijuana was located in the bag. The officer gathered the item into evidence and is sending it to the lab for testing. Criminal charges are pending the lab results.
  • An officer performed a traffic stop at South and Walnut streets, resulting in Cayden Gerdes of Jefferson being issued a citation for excessive speed.
  • Regina Romeo reported she was assaulted by a known female while at 106 W. Washington St. An officer requested surveillance video and is investigating the claims.
  • An anonymous caller reported a group of juveniles at Russell Park using profanity. She had asked them to stop, but they began cursing at her. An officer made contact with the group. Three juvenile males were advised by the officer that they were not allowed in the park for 30 days as a consequence to their actions.
  • Kim Meyers reported a possible burglary at 111 N. Chestnut St. Meyers is the property manager for the building’s owner. She located doors removed from the hinges inside the locked building. An officer is investigating.
  • Officers assisted a female whose dog had fallen into a storm sewer intake in the 1100 block of W. Lincoln Way. The officers were able to get the animal out of the water intake.
  • An officer was flagged down and told of a dog running freely in the 300 block of S. Grimmell Road. The animal was caught and placed in the Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller reported a suspicious male at the Jefferson Swimming Pool in the 700 block of S. Maple Street. Officers arrived and found a city worker working at the facility.
  • Officers assisted with a medical call in the 400 block of N. Wilson Avenue.
  • An officer located an open door at 204 N. Grimmell Road.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
