John Nardini of Perry

John Nardini, son of Peter and Pauline (Seghi) Nardini, was born Jan. 18, 1927, in Madrid, Iowa, and died July 29, 2015, at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa.

John first attended school in Zook Spur, a coal mining town south of Madrid, and went on to graduate from Madrid High School in 1945.

On June 4, 1945, he joined the Army. During John’s service, he earned the Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Germany and was honorably discharged January 2, 1947.

On May 19, 1949, John and Marilyn were united in marriage.

John worked in the dry cleaning business for most of his life, working at GI Bile, Deluxe Cleaner and Hall Brothers until owning his own business.

He was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where he also worked as the chief custodian for the snow removal crew.

John is preceded by his parents; wife, Marilyn; son, Timothy; brother, Bernie Nardini; and sister, Arlene Galetich, and her husband, William.

He is survived by his sons, John L. Nardini of Madrid and Mark Nardini of Perry; grandchildren, Micah (Ryan) Benes of Mankato, Minn., Michael Nardini of Ames, Jeff (Tamara) Nardini of Granger and Scott Nardini of Nevada; great-grandchildren, Collin, Brody and Andrea; sister-in-law, Mary Nardini of Colorado; special friend and loving caregiver, Nora Sayles; other relatives; and many friends.
