Private family graveside services will be held Thursday, Aug. 3 at Violet Hill Cemetery for Keith Crum, 79, of Perry, who passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017, at his home under the care of his family and HCI Hospice Care.

Condolences to the family may be sent to Murdock Funeral Home in Perry.

Keith Francis Crum was born July 20, 1938, in Perry, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Amy B. (Morgan) Crum.

He grew up and attended school in Perry, graduating from Perry High School in the class of 1956.

Keith served his country in the U.S. Air Force from Feb. 7, 1957, until his honorable discharge Feb. 6, 1961.

He was employed at John Deere Manufacturing Company as a welder, painter and numerous other jobs at the plant until his retirement.

Keith spent nearly his whole life in Perry and enjoyed his memberships in the V-8 Club, Doodle Bug Club and the Two-Cylinder Club.

He enjoyed spending time with his wife of 21 years, Ginger (Potter) Crum, and their families.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger Crum of Perry; son, Derek Crum of Colfax, Iowa, and step-son Harry (Happy) Ellett III of Perry; daughter, Darci (Jerry) McMains of Madrid, and step-daughter, Cindy Hoffman of Rochester, Minn.; five grandchildren, Emily Lacina, Angela McMains, Tasha Booth, Skye Ellett and Jeremiah Ellett; and two great-grandchildren, Layla and Lincoln Booth.

Preceding Keith in death were his parents; one daughter, Susan Crum; and one brother, Carl Crum.
