Some 80 youngsters and a dozen or more adults filled the Voas Nature Area with song Friday morning in an educational summer outdoor concert sponsored by the Dallas County Conservation Board.
The free show featured nature songs with a sing-a-long component, with Dallas County Conservation Naturalist Mike Havlik leading the band.
“Dirt Makes Your Lunch” and “Bats Eat Bugs” were two of the crowd favorites, and the children ate their sack lunches and ranged freely in the park for the remainder of the afternoon.
“This was a great way to kick off the summer,” Havlik said.
