BONDURANT — One goal on one set-piece was enough to make the difference between victory and defeat in Raccoon River Conference girls soccer.

Unfortunately for Perry (3-3, 1-2), it was Bondurant-Farrar scoring on a corner kick and posting the 1-0 victory Tuesday.

Natalie Martinez fired five shots on goal, KC Gafkjen two shots and Grace Marburger one, but none found the back of the net as the Lady Jays held on for the win.

Amparo Menendez kept Perry within range by making eight saves in goal.

The Jayette junior varsity was also blanked as they were handed a 2-0 setback. Bryn Steffen had a pair of shots on goal for Perry, with Jayette goalie Carly Anderson making seven saves.

Perry returns to action Thursday with a trip to Boone. Junior varsity play begins at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity match to follow.
