Last day of school year a good time for Perry Middle School students

The Perry Class of 2019; a.k.a. the latest eighth grade class, received honors and enjoyed a fun afternoon Friday during their last day as middle school students.

 

The last day of school for the 2015 academic year in the Perry public schools was Friday, and for the 124 members of the Class of 2019 it was an opportunity to be rewarded for their achievements this year and to look back on their three years as middle school students.

The class gathered early in the afternoon at the Perry Performing Arts Center, where various students were awarded recognition in Art, Band, Choir, Boys Track, Reading Lab, Math and Language Arts, with distinctions made for Peer Helpers, Perfect Attendance and Citizenship.

The students were then treated to a slide slow, a montage of images from the past three years that generated many laughs, some “ooohs!” and even a few “ahhhs!”

Cookies and refreshments were served afterward in the cafeteria.

In the meantime, the sixth and seventh graders burst out of the south doors of their corridors for some fun on the lawn, as seen in the photos below.
