STORY CITY — Freshman guard Molly Lutmer splashed seven 3-pointers en route to a career-best 27 points to lead visiting Perry to a 61-34 whipping of Roland-Story in non-conference play Saturday.

Lutmer was an equal opportunity assassin, hitting four treys and a field goal for 14 first-half points before adding three more triples, another field goal and two free throws for 13 points after the intermission.

Nine of Jo Diw’s 17 points came in the first half as the Jayettes held leads of 17-5 after one quarter and of 32-23 after two. An 18-7 bulge in the third frame gave Perry (9-3) a 20-point lead, at 50-30, entering the fourth quarter.

Diw hit two triples in the win, as did Grace Marburger, who finished with 10 points. Emma Olejniczak had three points and Grace Stewart and Maddie West two apiece, with Perry finishing 10-of-13 at the foul line.

Roland-Story (7-4) was led by 16 points from junior Jenna Clark and 12 points from freshman Juliann Clark. The hosts connected on two 3-pointers and were 6-of-8 at the line.

Perry visits Class 4A No. 10 Boone Tuesday before hosting Bondurant-Farrar Friday.
