Fire engulfed a rear garage and part of a house at 613 Green St. in Madrid shortly after midnight Wednesday, triggering a full response from the Madrid Volunteer Fire Department, with mutual aid provided by the Woodward and Slater volunteer departments.
The cause of the fire in the rear of the 117-year-old, three-bedroom structure is under investigation at this hour.
There were no injuries in the blaze.
The Madrid Police Department, Boone County Sheriff’s office and Boone County EMS also responded to the scene.
