Nov. 11 Veterans Day program announced

The program for the Nov. 11 Veterans Day celebration was announced Friday.

The event will be held for the 18th year at the Perry High School Performing Arts Center, 1200 18th St. in Perry, beginning at 10 a.m.

The Veterans Day events are free and open to the public.

Prior to the formal ceremony at 10 a.m., a variety of events honoring U.S. veterans are planned, including:

  • Complimentary breakfast from 6-10 a.m., hosted and sponsored by the Perry Hy-Vee. Breakfast will be free for all veterans, active service, National Guard and reserve personnel,
  • Morning refreshments from 8-8:45 a.m. in the Dr. Eugene Brady Library at Perry High School, sponsored by the Dallas County Hospital,
  • 27th Veterans Day Presentations from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Perry Performing Arts Center, featuring World War II and Korea panels,
  • A Veterans Day luncheon in the Perry High School gymnasium following the assembly program.
