WAUKEE — Perry senior pitcher Emma Olejniczak has been selected to play in the Iowa Girls Coaches Association Senior All-Star Series July 24.
Olejniczak will pitch for the Blue squad, with Taylor Graven of North Butler the other pitcher chosen. The Blue squad will be coached by Larry Achenbach of Albia and Patty Stockman Sunn of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows.
The Red team will face the White squad at 4 p.m., with Blue playing White at 6 p.m. and Blue battle Red at 8 p.m. All games will be played at Waukee.
Olejniczak was 23-11 this year in 219-1/3 innings. She finished with an unofficial ERA of 1.21 while issuing 36 walks but striking out 357, second-best in all classes. The UNI recruit has 90 more strikeouts that the second-place total in 4A and finished her stellar career with 1,235 sit-downs.
