One arrest follows two-car crash on Highway 141 near Shopko

A man was handcuffed Friday night after the car that he was driving was involved in a collision with another car on Iowa Highway 141 in front of Shopko. There were no apparent injuries in the mishap.

A man was taken into custody by the Perry Police Department Friday night after his vehicle collided with another about 7:15 p.m. on Iowa Highway 141 in front of Shopko in Perry.

An officer of the Perry Police Department was seen administering a field sobriety test to the man, and shortly afterward he was handcuffed.

The man’s vehicle came to rest in the south ditch of Iowa Highway 141, and the second vehicle was parked along the roadway. Its two occupants appeared to be uninjured.

The cause of the collision is unknown at this hour, but the Perry Police Department is investigating the incident.

The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident, providing traffic control and clearing debris from the roadway intersection. The Dallas County EMS also responded.
