Over 100 entries lined the streets of downtown Friday for the annual Perry Cruuze Show, sponsored by the Perry Chamber of Commerce.

Perfect weather greeted the big crowds who walked the streets of downtown Perry Friday evening during the third annual Perry Cruise Show, sponsored by the Perry Chamber of Commerce.

A large number of vehicles of all kinds was on hand, with more than 100 parked along Second and Warford streets, a large increase from the approximately 75 entries last summer.

A beer garden was held in the Josh Davis Memorial Plaza, with DJ Pat Graney providing musical entertainment. Those working up an appetite had numerous choices, including a grill staffed by the Perry Volunteer Fire Department, who were happy to report they were certain to sell out their large supply of burgers and other offerings.

Trophies were awarded in several categories, with Scott Hein winning for Best Two-Wheel entry with his Star Wars-themed motorcycle and Daniel Thurmond’s Model A claiming honors for Most Unusual. The Best Local entry trophy was claimed by Chuck Scheib for his 1938 Ford, while Joe Korte won for Best Paint with his 1967 Chevrolet C10. Best in Show was awarded to Rhonda Onken’s 1956 Chevy.
