Panorama netters drop three at Saturday tourney

CORNING — Panorama played well, but could not make the final hurdle in dropping three close matches at the Southwest Valley Tournament Saturday.

The Panthers fell to Audubon, 2-1 (21-14, 17-21, 6-15) in their first match, then suffered a 2-0 loss to the hosts (21-19, 21-17). A 2-1 setback to CAM (21-19, 11-21, 7-15) ended the day.

Hope Wilderman had 10 combined kills to lead the Panorama offense, with Morgan Johnk adding nine kills and Brooke Halterman eight. Kennedy Kuta and Nicole Rolfes each had five kills, with Carson Fisher adding three and Olivia Richey one. Kuta finished with two blocks, with Halterman, Rolfes and Wilderman also notching blocks.

Kuta had 26 of the 35 Panther assists, with Johnk making 16 digs, Hannah Woodworth eight, Richey six and Erica Block three while Wilderman and Payton Douglass each had two digs and Kuta and Rolfes one apiece.

Woodworth finished 23-of-28 with three aces serving while Rolfes was 20-of-23 with three aces as well. Richey was 16-19-4 behind the line, with Kuta 18-21-1, Johnk 14-16-1 and Wilderman 12-15-1.

Panorama played Monday in the Saydel Invitational Monday (results unavailable) and will visit Van Meter tonight.
