Panorama no match for Woodward-Granger netters

WOODWARD — A 3-0 sweep of visiting Panorama allowed Woodward-Granger to raise its volleyball record to 18-7 overall and 6-0 in West Central Conference play.

The Hawks streaked to a 25-7 win in the first game, then put the match away with a 25-14 win in game two and a 25-15 victory in the third game.

Olivia McCune led the W-G attack with 16 kills, with Mary Hansen adding five kills, Alyssa Bice four kills and Riley Kirton three. Hansen had 12 assists and Bice 11 to set the offense.

McCune’s domination at the net included seven blocks, with Anna Nelson providing three blocks while Bice and Kirton had one block apiece.

Libero player Kara Bodensteiner paced the defense with 21 digs, with McCune adding 17 digs and Kaycee Major 15 digs while Bree Lesch had eight, Hansen seven, Bice six and Kirton four.

Lesch had seven aces while serving 23-of-23, with Major 15-17-1, Bodensteiner 11-12-3 and Bice 7-8-3. Hansen was 5-6-3 behind the line, with McCun 5-7-1.

W-G will play in the Perry Tournament Thursday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
