WINTERSET — Lakeside Golf Course in Winterset served as host site for a Friday triangular with home team Van Meter, Panorama and Earlham.

The Van Meter girls won with a score of 220, with Panorama second at 245 while Earlham shot 275. Van Meter’s Molly Carey was meet medalist with a 39, 16 strokes better than runner-up medalist Maggie Smith of Panorama, who carded a 55.

“Maggie had a tough day playing at Lake Panorama National yesterday (Thursday), but she was able to overcome her frustration from the day before and pulled off a nice score,” Panorama girls head coach Melissa Hochstetler said. “We are looking forward to playing at LPN in our invitational Monday and hopefully for some sunshine!”

Savana Mobley had a 61 for the Panthers, with Anna Duis and Alex Kurtz each shooting 65. Rounds of 67 from Madi Fear and of 68 from Lauren McClatchey were not used for the team total.

Additional individual scores were not available.

The Panthers had hosted Ogden Thursday, with the Bulldogs posting a 232-254 victory.

Maranda Wheelock had a 48 to claim medalist honors for Ogden, with Bulldog teammate Hannah Carter the runner-up medalist with a 52. Other scores were not available.

Fear fired a 56 to lead Panorama.

“Madi has been a very consistent player for us,” Hochstetler said, “and she did not disappoint today in the windy conditions.”

Duis had a 64 and Cassie Labath at 66, with the hosts counting one of the trio of cards showing 69 that were turned in by Smith, McClatchey and Chloe Webster.

The Panorama boys will host their annual 18-hole invitational at LPN Saturday, with the Panorama girls hosting their 18-hole invite Monday.
