Perry Community School District Superintendent Lynn Ubben announced Monday the Perry Elementary School received a donation from the West Des Moines branch of Wells Fargo and Co., located near the Jordan Creek shopping center.
Ubben said the financial services company held a school supply drive and donated materials to the Perry Elementary School and other schools in the metro area.
“They dropped off four boxes full of backpacks, lunch boxes, Kleenex, disinfectant wipes, colored pencils, crayons, notebooks and much more,” said Ubben.
With 1,800 workers in its West Des Moines Home Mortgage center and about 13,500 across central Iowa, Wells Fargo and Co. is the largest employer in Dallas County and in the Des Moines metro region.
According to its financial statements, the San Francisco-based multinational banking and financial services holding company earned revenues of $84.3 billion in 2014 and profits of $23 billion.
