A Perry man was arrested Saturday after allegedly shooting another man in the leg with a .22 caliber rifle in an apparently bungled burglary.
Colton Jennings Siglin, 25, of Perry faces felony charges of first-degree burglary, willful injury and going armed with intent after allegedly forcing open the front door of a house at 335 Lucinda St. about 9:30 p.m. Friday and shooting a 23-year-old man inside the house, according to witness statements.
The victim was treated and released at a local hospital, according to a statement issued Monday morning by the Perry Police Department. The name of the victim was not released by law enforcement authorities.
Siglin fled the scene of the alleged shooting and was later located by officers of the Perry Police Department. He was taken into custody without incident.
A firearm possibly used in the assault was also recovered, police said.
Siglin is currently held in the Dallas County Jail on $25,000 bond.
