February 21, 2017

  • A caller said a dog was running at large, and “every time she tries to go to her car, the dog comes at her and starts barking.” An officer responded and “attempted to capture the black Lab but was unable to.”
  • A caller said her dog was missing.
  • A caller said “she received a threatening text” from someone who “was going to kill her and her family.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a white purse she found. An officer responded, and the item was “logged into property.”
  • Paul Breh was issued a citation for first-offense dog at large.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department provided a funeral escort.
  • William Warren Lawrence, 45, 1323 Sixth St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of third-degree theft.
  • A caller said “she attempted to take a cell phone away from her 12-year-old son,” and “he ran from the house.” An officer responded, and the child was “found upstairs and returned home by a neighbor.”
  • A caller said “she recently broke up with” her boyfriend, and now her ex-boyfriend “has an Xbox that belongs to her posted on” a website for sale. An officer responded and “advised the caller it was a civil issue, and she needed to take” the matter “to small claims court.”

February 22, 2017

  • A caller said “he broke up” with someone who was now “calling, texting and harassing him.” The caller said “she has a tablet of his that he is paying for,” but “she is refusing to give him the tablet back.” An officer responded and learned the caller in the meantime “has moved back in with” his harasser, “and they have worked it out.”
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department was “flagged down” by someone who said “her daughter had run away.” The mother said her daughter was believed to be at church but instead ran away with her boyfriend. The officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said his son “was the person who damaged the soccer fields by accident. His son did not realize he did it, and he will contact the city himself.” An officer responded.
  • Brandon Taylor Mims, 25, 2946 Kading Road, Perry, was arrested on a charge of interference with official acts.

February 23, 2017

  • Alan Randolph Heywood Jr., 32, 2305 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of carrying weapons.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
