January 23, 2017

  • A caller from a local bank reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill from a local retail store. An officer responded, and an investigation was begun.
  • The Perry Police Department School Resource Officer helped a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff “to conduct a K-9 locker search.” The search yielded “no indications.”
  • Timothy Pittman, 24, 1008 Graceland Ave., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant on a charge of second-degree theft.
  • A caller from a local restaurant said the store “received a card for two free meals and noticed that” the customer “had written in ‘two free apple pies.'” The caller said “they are aware of her doing this and stealing two apple pies and wanted an officer to respond to her residence to make her aware of it.” An officer responded and tried to made contact with the customer, but no one answered the door. The customer’s attorney later called the Perry Police Department, and the officer told the attorney that the store “did not want charges, but they wanted me to let her know” that they “knew that it was her that penciled in ‘two free apple pies’ on her free meal coupon.”
  • A caller said “their paint sprayer was taken.” The caller said she believed the item was taken by a man “because he installed a furnace not too long ago, and no one knew about it.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said his wife was “nervous” because “a male keeps walking around the residence.” The caller said the “male appears to be trying to hide from cars when one passes by.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a possible break-in at a screen door by the garage.” Officers responded and found “it looked like someone was trying to break into his garage.”

January 24, 2017

  • Daniel Ramirez, 33, 2021 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation and on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Benito Ramirez, 35, 2625 Summer Meadows Drive, Perry, was issued a citation for failure to have a valid driver’s license.
  • A caller said “two males wearing black hoodies had just tried to break into their storage shed in their back yard.” The caller said “nothing seemed to be missing” from the shed, but the males in black hoodies “seemed like they were carrying something as they were running.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
