July 21, 2017

  • A caller said someone was “throwing things out of the house.” The dispatcher heard “yelling in the background.” Officers responded.
  • A caller reported “a couple arguing” at a local gas station. He said a male “kept pointing his finger at a female and yelling at her.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog “has been outside without water since about noon.” The caller was “concerned for its welfare.” An officer responded and found the “dog is okay.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a bicycle he said he found. An officer responded and placed the item “into the bike shed.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said his vehicle “had its windows broken.” The caller said he was “not sure if it was due to the storm or someone did it intentionally.” An officer responded and determined the damage was “not storm related.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said someone “keeps harassing her,” and the woman “would like her to stop.” An officer responded and advised the harasser and her husband “not to have further contract” with the woman.

July 22, 2017

  • Carmela Espinoza of 1223 Fifth St. was issued a citation for second-offense dog at large.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order to report “a dog that pees in her child’s pool.” The woman said “she has spoken with the woman that lives there, but she continues to allow her dog run at large.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “someone is taking things out of the residence.” The caller said he “knows there have been thefts before and just wanted to make sure it wasn’t happening again.” An officer responded and told the caller “family members” have “written permission” to “remove belongings,” and “everything is okay.”
  • A caller asked to speak with an officer about “issues with her and her husband.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked whether a welfare check could be made on her ex-boyfriend, who “has been sending disturbing text messages” from a residence in Urbandale. An officer responded and made contact with the Urbandale Police Department, who confirmed the ex-boyfriend “was completely okay.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order to report “an unsafe refrigerator.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “a dog has been barking for over an hour.” An officer responded, and “no dog was heard.”
  • A caller said “someone vandalized her lawn chair” and put “something ‘gross’ on it.” The caller said “weird things like this keep happening.” An officer responded and found “a glob of white substance on the seat.” The caller “was able to wash the substance off, and no damage was done to her chair.”
  • A caller from a local restaurant said someone in a vehicle “came by the drive-through window and began to harass the employees.” The caller said the harasser “kept taking pictures of them and making threatening comments.” An officer responded but the harasser was gone “upon the officer’s arrival.”

July 23, 2017

  • Bryan Osvaldo Juarez-Ordonez, 23, 1803 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct-fighting or violent behavior.
  • A caller said “his truck tires were popped while he was being booked.” An officer responded and found “that an unknown person punctured the victim’s back tire with a sharp object.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he received a call from an out-of-state individual accusing him of child pornography.” An officer responded and informed the man it was a phone scam.
  • A caller said “he is having issues with his former girlfriend and does not want her coming around.” An officer responded.
  • Benny Paul Pedersen, 30, 113 E. Jackson St., Lake City, was arrested on a charge of carrying a dangerous weapon.
  • A caller said “her dad caught” someone “looking in her window.” An officer responded and told the peeper that “he was to stay away from” the caller and her family and that “if he could not do that, he’d end up getting himself arrested.” The peeper “agreed to stay away.”
  • A caller said someone “attempted to hit her car with his car.” The caller said she wanted the other person “to leave her alone.” An officer responded and made contact with the other person, who “denied the allegations and made allegations that” the caller “was harassing him.” The officer directed both parties to have no further contact with one another.
  • A caller “said someone is harassing him.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she dropped the key to her residence outside while attempting to unlock the door” and now “can’t find her key.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. regarding “harassing text messages from” someone. An officer responded.

July 24, 2017

  • A caller said “sometime in the night her roommate” allegedly “stole her vehicle.” The caller said “she was not able to come into the police department right now because she was headed out of town and wouldn’t be back until tomorrow.” An officer responded and told the caller “she would not be able to report it as stolen until she fills out the stolen vehicle report.” Learning this, the caller said “she didn’t want to then.”
  • A caller said “her son was in a vehicle that was reported stolen.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
