June 12, 2017

  • A caller said the neighbor’s dogs were “constantly barking when they are outside.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said she “found a mask in the rear of the business” and “threw it in the trash” only “to come this morning and find it back out, sitting on top of the dumpster.” An officer responded but did not find the suspicious mask.
  • A caller “reported a goose is flipped on its back unable to get on its feet on its own.” An officer responded and “assisted a gosling to an upright position,” after which “the gosling returned to its parents.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital said a patient “was bitten by his friend’s dog. Both parties are at the hospital now.” An officer responded and made contact with the dog’s owner, explaining that “due to this being the second time this dog had bitten someone,” the animal would have “to be re-homed out of town.” The dog’s owner “was agreeable to it.”
  • A caller said she “has gone through the process  of eviction to tenants.” The caller said the tenants “have done some damage and have left a mess,” and she “wanted to know if anything can be done legally.” An officer responded and explained to the property owner that “it is a tenant/landlord issue which needs to be settled in civil court.”
  • A caller reported a phone scam. An officer responded.
  • A caller “reported his child’s bike stolen.” An officer responded.
  • Curtis Gene Hoyt, 52, 922 10th St., Perry, was arrested on a Perry warrant for contempt of court-violation of a protective order.
  • A caller “said people are running an air conditioner with a plastic cover still on it from the winter.” An officer responded, but “no one would answer the door.”

June 13, 2017

  • A caller said “there is a bicycle on Iowa Highway 141.” The caller said “it was in the eastbound lanes” so “he put it off on the shoulder.” An officer responded and “took it to the bike shed.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
