June 23, 2017

  • Gregory Alan Nath, 38, 1710 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested on charges of obstruction of emergency communications, false imprisonment and first-offense domestic abuse assault.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded.
  • Jesus Ramon Gomez, 19, of no fixed address, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of fifth-degree theft.
  • A caller said her son “was just threatened by a man.” Three wireless 911 calls were received, in the last of which a man said “a kid swerved at him and almost hit him” and then “opened his window and yelled, ‘I love you.'” The wireless 911 caller said he “then followed him to a house,” where he “yelled at the kid and then left.” Officers responded and spoke with all the parties.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with an identification card that she found on the street. An officer responded and “logged the ID into evidence.”
  • A caller from the Dallas County Public Health Department said she “needs to do a welfare check on a baby.” She said the “child has been sick, but the mother had refused to allow them to see the baby.” An officer “responded and stood by while the public health nurse checked on the baby.”
  • A caller “said she had some fraudulent checks that were deposited.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said her daughter “slapped her across the face following an argument they were having.” Officers responded and learned the mother “was filming her daughter, which upset her.” The daughter “attempted to get the cell phone away from” the mother, “and a physical struggle for the phone occurred.” The officers spoke to both parties, and the mother agreed to “go to work,” and the daughter took “the dog on a walk to calm down.”
  • A caller reported “loud music coming from” a nearby residence. An officer responded and found all quiet.
  • A caller said “a 9-year-old boy living across from” her residence “was yelling derogatory things at her.” An officer responded but was unable to find the insulting child.
  • A caller said his cat was missing.

June 24, 2017

  • A caller reported “a party going on near his residence.” He said “his neighbors are constantly having parties and keeping him awake.” Officers responded but found no party.
  • A caller reported “loud music coming from the yellow house next door.” Officers responded and made contact with the party playing music, who “agreed to turn the music down.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order “to report that he has been harassed on two occasions by two males,” who “are accusing him of saying that he said that one of them sells drugs at their residence.” Officers responded, made contact with all the parties, and “all the parties agreed to not talk to each other any more.”
  • A caller said “she was at the car wash, and her vehicle was damaged in the process.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from a local restaurant said someone left her identification card at the store. An officer responded and returned the item to its owner.
  • A “child was playing with the phone” and dialed 911. “She said she dialed 911, and there is no emergency.” The dispatched “advised her to only dial 911 if there is an emergency.” The dispatcher “could hear noise in the background of a little brother with her.” The caller said “she was with her dad, and everything was okay.”
  • A caller said someone “keeps calling her, and she wanted it to stop.” An officer responded.
  • Devon James Timmons, 1306 30th St., Perry, was issued a citation for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to yield the right of way.
  • A caller reported “barking dogs for the last three hours.” An officer responded but did not hear barking.
  • A caller reported fireworks being set off. An officer responded but did not find any fireworks user.
  • A caller reported fireworks being set off. An officer responded, “located a group of people around a recreational fire” and “spoke with them and provided a copy of the new laws for fireworks.”
  • A caller reported fireworks being set off. An officer responded but did not find any fireworks user.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department was responding to a report of fireworks when he “encountered” another group “of people setting off fireworks.” The officer informed them of “the new laws and provided a copy of a fact sheet for the laws.”

  • A caller reported fireworks being set off. An officer responded, made contact with people outside and told them about “new city ;laws in regards to fireworks.” The officer also “provided a copy of important fireworks bullet points.”
  • A caller reported “a female that has been pacing back and forth in front of” a store “for the last 20 minutes.” The caller said “he believes” her behavior “to be suspicious.” Officers responded and made contact with Karylann Renne Lewin, 14, who was “a missing person out of the Oelwein Police Department.” Lewin said “her parents were en route to pick her up.” Lewin was “brought into the police department and processed.”

  • A 13-year-old male from Perry was issued a citation for first-offense curfew violation.
