Perry Police Report May 15

May 13, 2017

  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a billfold she found. An officer responded and contacted the item’s owner.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded, captured the animal and transported it to the Perry Animal Holding Facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • A caller said four juveniles “keep driving around the neighborhood,” and the caller “thought it was suspicious.” An officer responded and learned the mother of one of the juveniles “was tired of her 14-year-old son playing video games all the time, so she decided to have him learn to drive in their neighborhood. Other children were present in the vehicle as well.” The mother of the juvenile male driver was issued a citation for allowing an unauthorized minor to drive and operation without a license.
  • A caller said someone was “taking lumber from the construction site.” An officer responded and found a man “removing lumber from the dumpster. He put it back.”
  • The Dallas County Sheriff’s office reported a vehicle traveling north on County Road P58 from within which people were “throwing full beer cans at passing vehicles.” An officer responded but did not find the evil doers.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a debit card from Great Western Bank. An officer responded and made contact with the item’s owner.

May 14, 2017

  • Zechariah Brown, 19, 1624 Estella St., #6, Perry, was arrested on a charge of interference with official acts resulting in bodily injury.
  • A caller reported “someone banging on the back door of her residence.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “there is something wrong with the water at a residence she owns, and she can’t get the water shut off.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said “that KCCI was at their house and was refusing to leave.” An officer responded and sent the turkey buzzards on their way.
  • A caller requested “a welfare check on his son” because “he believes he’s not being fed properly.” An officer responded.
  • A person entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order to “report that there were kids playing in the concrete basket, and they shouldn’t be playing in it.” An officer responded but did not locate the playing children.
  • A caller reported “a guy walking his dog and the dog using the bathroom in her yard.” An officer responded.

May 15, 2017

  • Hermenegildo Mauricio, 31, 1909 Sixth St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense public intoxication.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
