  • A caller reported a barking dog. An officer responded but did not find a barking dog.
  • A caller said she used her guest’s “EBT card to buy groceries,” and her guest “then became upset at the amount purchased.” Officers responded and stood by while the guest “moved out.”
  • A caller said her 11-year-old son “is acting up and needs to be spoken to.” An officer responded and spoke with the child.
  • A caller “said he was having problems with a neighbor.” Officers responded.
  • A caller reported “kids jumping off the roof of a yellow house onto a large bean nag pillow.” An officer responded, and the “kids were told to stay off the roof.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said someone “broke into his mother’s house, causing damage to a door.” An officer responded and explained that “since his mother owns the house, she would need to be the one to file a complaint.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said “his vehicle was broken into.” An officer responded.
  • Candido Grijalva, 58, 1620 Warford St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI.
  • Amie Jo Shriner, 35, 1305 E. 36th St., Des Moines, was arrested on Des Moines Police Department warrants on charges of driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A caller said “someone is laying on the hood of her vehicle, which is parked by the alley.” An officer responded and told the suspicious person to “stay off other people’s property.”

May 8, 2017

  • A caller said “there was a male at her residence that she didn’t want there anymore.” Officers responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
